Happy Birthday Opie!

I’m a little behind in posting. Opie turned one last Saturday. What a whirlwind of a year! The kid has done so many things. I am in awe. Last week he said his first word or rather words… you’ll never believe… he said “thank you”. I mean whose kid says thank you before mama? BTW - he’s said dada, but he calls everyone and everything dada. And just two days after his birthday - he took his first steps. Though he’s over that and has gone right back to crawling. Whew! Not sure I was really ready for that kind of mobility! He was pretty happy about turning one.

He wasn’t at all happy about eating cake.

Opening presents was cool - but he was really most interested in boxes, cards and bows.

Opie’s 1st Easter

It was a pretty uneventful Easter, though it was an utterly gorgeous day! Daddy was sick so we pretty much stayed in… but I had to get him out and at least get a few new pictures.

His faces just crack me up sometimes! I love that it looks like he’s taking a self portrait here. Really - he just wanted to put the camera in his mouth.

This is the “Puppy” face.

I puffy heart his little squinty smile!

He’s doing a few new things… pointing is one of them. He points at you… jabbers… waves… then jabbers more… as if you know exactly what he’s saying. He’s also in totally Mommy mode…. doesn’t want me to be out of sight… AT ALL. He’s not walking yet, but almost. Oh yeah - and he doesn’t particularly like having his picture made anymore. It was really tough getting these… I was very, very lucky. I cannot believe he will be a year in less than a month! OMG!

Whoa! My camera pulled double duty this weekend. I think it may need a rest.

Don’t Take My Picture!!

I know I haven’t posted anything new about Opie lately… but this is why… He doesn’t seem to like me when my camera is in hand. Not a good feeling when you are a photographer. Still trying for a mini session. Maybe I’ll get something out of him the weekend. Isn’t he just Pity Full!

Opie’s Standing

And not very far from walking either. We’ve already had a few brave moments resulting in bumps on the head. He even has four teeth and one only a moment away - and tasting his through all kinds of new foods and furniture too… My how time flies!

Oh. What. Fun.

Opie’s 1st Christmas was a blast! He laughed. He ate. He played. He couldn’t have been happier!

He ate boxes, ribbons, bows and wrapping paper. He ate a little food too. He even got two front teeth for Christmas… imagine that! Better to bite me with.

He was a real go-getter. I love a man who knows what he wants and goes after it!! Hehe.

When I say he got lots of loot… I mean he got lots of loot. I guess that’s a first grand baby for you. Now - where the heck am I gonna put this stuff???

He even let ChooChoo play with his toys too… he’s already so good at sharing!

He played his little heart out today though… and now… he’s in bed. Now… I think I should get off this computer and go spend some quality time with my hubby. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

P.S. If you’re enjoying the snow on my blog - you can let-it-snow on your wordpress blog as well!

Up. Up. Up.

Another milestone happened this a.m. Opie pulled up and stood. Can you say trouble? We’re about to be knee deep in it. Nevertheless - Opie was so proud of himself! And I couldn’t help feeling blessed that I am able to be here to capture all his milestones and still be able to make a living doing the things I love to do.

Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this face every morning?!

The camera was finally turned on me. I met with Anne Almasy last weekend to get our family portraits on. It’s about time, right!? We had such a great time with Anne! I think we’ll have to make this an annual or semi-annual thing. In case you guys forgot what I looked like or if you never know… here ya go! We’re a family of four eyes and we’ve been assured by our optometrist that Opie will inevitably have them as well! For more check out the Almasy Blog! Thanks Again Anne! Can’t wait to meet up with you again and swap some self-employment stories.

Opie Crawls

YAY! Opie crawled for the first time today.

Designer Babies

During the break I got to hang one of my best friends and fellow designer, Eva Talley. And we finally got to introduce our boys. Check out our Designer Babies - Danny and Opie. If I have to guess I’d say these two might have a few creative bones growing in their bodies somewhere… I can’t wait to see where!

Eva said the funniest thing when she met Opie. She said, “He really is JUST like his pictures!”. He really is too - full of personality and has countless expressions. I think the kid has more active muscles in his face than an adult. I think Opie may just end up with my brown eyes… crossing fingers and toes.

I think we’re in trouble… Opie learned a new trick on Eva’s visit. Needless to say - we dropped his mattress down a few notches.

Opie’s First 1st Thanksgiving

He loved it so much he couldn’t get enough! It seems now he’s banned anything but blended table food. And don’t ya just love his little bib! Opie’s Great Gran found it at Williams Sonoma.

A Typical Opie Expression. Man - he cracks us up!

My Guys…

I’ll give you 3 guesses to figure out where Opie gets all those faces.

Gotta love his Old Man Sweater! He HAD the cutest converse high tops on… but I’m sad to say… they didn’t last.

Now… we’re off to Opie’s Second 1st Thanksgiving… More images to come.
