No Baby Yet…

Thanks to everyone whose been checking on me. I haven’t gone into labor yet. Although, I am so ready at this point! I’m shooting for this Saturday - now, wouldn’t that be nice - but I know that this kid has a mind of his own and will arrive on his time and not on mine.

I am wrapping client projects up this week and I am almost done! Yah! I’m working on a Friday deadline. So - 4 logo concepts left, a blog customization (yeah, I’m doing those now too) and a couple of other little web projects/revisions left. You might even see the Grand Introduction of Designer’s Diner on Friday as well! How Exciting!

<<<<< OMG! Is that thing FOR REAL?

My Other Half

I don’t think I’ve every really shared a real image of my incredible husband. He’s the smartest, funniest, most sensitive, loving man I know. But he’s really just a kid at heart. His birthday is today… he’s now as old as I am! We’re only a little more than a month apart but he likes to tease me about being the older woman - how risque! Did I mention he was funny? This is my Paul… my soulmate… my everything… and my babies daddy (hehe). Does he look ready to be a Dad in less than 3 weeks? This is just a snap shot that I took a couple of months ago… but he pretty much looks the same. And Yes… we are both four-eyed nerds and I assume our son will join in our legacy. Ha! Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Fifteen Pounds of Pure Cuteness

Or fifteen pounds of pure meanness… which ever you prefer. This one’s a real guard dog for sure… I have to apologize to the UPS man almost daily. Well, I’ve been sharing my cat so much lately that I had to show off my other fur-baby - Katie. Heaven knows neither one of them will probably won’t be photographed for quite sometime once their non-furry brother arrives. Ha!

Spell with Flickr

L O V Wooden Tag E

What a fun idea! I’ve always been obsessed with letterforms and typography so when I came across Spell with Flickr. I was in hog heaven. This might even be better than all those 3D vintage letters I’ve been collecting for my office… but probably not. Go Spell Something… and if you don’t like all the forms simply click each letter form to request a new one.

ETA: I have been overwhelmed with the responses and enthusiasm about this new venture of mine. I just wanted to let everyone know I am working very hard to get this forum up and running as quickly as possible. There is just SO much that goes into doing things the right way. Plus things have been moving a bit slow lately so I can finish all client work before Baby Opie arrives. Also I want to give a huge thanks to those helping me to make this a successful community! Oh and don’t forget to spread the word!

Who needs a baby?

When you have a Choo? Choo is my personality-filled cat if you didn’t already know. And her name is actually Cashew, which was shortened to Shoe and then ultimately to Choo or ChooChoo. Hmm… maybe she should become the mascot for Jimmy Choo? Anywho, she is obsessed with all the baby stuff in my house. And why wouldn’t she be? It’s in every single room. If she’s not sleeping in the car seat, she’s lounging in the baby bed. If she’s not chasing her tail in the the pack and play, she bathing in the swing. I wonder if she’ll be jealous when Opie gets here and starts using “her” stuff? We shall see…

K.I.S.S

It’s not what you think… ha! What I mean is Keep It Simple [Stupid - no offense intended]. It’s a rule we try to follow in our everyday lives, but when it comes to design - a lot people think more is more. This is usually not so. Simple Design breeds Good Design. The most brilliant and memorable ideas are usually so simple. The same goes for logos, layouts and websites. Just look at that Fendi bag you’ve coveted for so long.

It’s COVERED in someone else’s SIMPLE logo. People are literally buying a logo when they buy a Fendi bag - and just look what they are paying for it. There is so much eye candy in our world - why complicate it with an overdone logo? Just my 2 cents.
