One Crazy Session

2 puppies + 2 kiddos + 2 adults… you do the math. The 3rd Annual Troxel Family Session Extravaganza took place yesterday. We tried not to go overboard this year with all of this year’s 6 participants - It was a whole bunch of fun with a big bed, white fluffy linens, comfy PJs and a Christmas story. Here’s a little sneak peak for the Troxels…

Remember Champ? He’s still a puppy, just a lot bigger.

And the new member of the family… Lucci… a 5 month old Shorkie Pup.

Classically Senior

The start of a busy shooting week is off to a good start. Just a little sneak peak for Andrew…

I am sad to say that my Blogging Marathon didn’t quite happen as I had anticipated. We had a busy weekend with our bouncing baby boy. I do have lots of things to blog about including a post on color theory, typography, and some recent design work… so stay tuned for that. Also note: this REALLY IS an incredibly busy week for me… 2 portrait sessions, a wedding, client website updates and more logo work than I care to talk about.

The Rock-N-Scoot: An Opie Update

He may need his own fan club soon. I get in trouble (even from clients) when I go too long without an Opie update, lol. Well, Opie isn’t quite crawing, but he’s doing what we like the call the Rock-N-Scoot… Backwards! It’s the funniest thing EVER! And he’s still making all those faces too! He’s eating food and drinking juice and making a mess on a daily basis. We had ourselves a little mini-session today… check it!

Catch of the Day

I’ve had an epiphany. Design is hard on the mind. Photography is hard on the body. If I continue on the path I’m headed down I may end up a brain-dead hunch-back. Ha! Just kidding… not really. But I do so love sharing in such a special day for couples in love. I love being the second shooter too. As it leaves my mind open and lets the creative juice flow freely. Thanks asking me to work with you Tiffiney!! I’m ready for next Saturday!

On to the special couple and their special day. Lauren & Brett… what a catch!! Check out their beautiful wedding on the lake. I must mention how gorgeous it was that day… the perfect fall wedding day!

Lauren had such a natural smile and a great sense of humor. She did anything we asked of her. Brett just thought we were weird, lol.

I love capturing all the details that make up such a special day.

But I also love capturing the excitement and the joy of the day. A little pre-wedding hello… no peaking though!!

It was quite and early morning for the boys… I am such a good photographer that I let them take a little cat nap. Hehe!

If you can’t tell - I was assigned to making the boys do what I wanted them to… it was fun… for me… not them, lol.

Can’t forget the rings… Gotta love the 21st Century… Man and Woman coming together as One… Equal.

Bye, Bye Love Birds! Have a great honeymoon!

The Blogging Marathon will continue tonight and through the weekend…. Stay Tuned!

Mission Statement Writing Tool

This is a little writing tool to help business write their mission statement. Writing a mission statement is the beginning of your business and a must to establish your brand and image. It’s not a easy thing to do… believe me… I just used this little tool myself… and it took me hours… well, in between working anyway.

A mission statement is usually a two sentence summary of what you do, for who, how and what makes you different. It is important for any business, no matter how large or how small, to have a mission statement so that you can sum up your business’s purpose quickly. Even though your business can have many philosophies, think about what main traits you want your business to radiate; for instance traditional, edgy, modern, whimsical, fun, etc.

A strong mission statement will give your clients confidence in your company by making it clear what the focus of your business is. It can help you figure out what your business is or should be all about… and ultimately helping your designer what direction your brand needs to go. Your mission statement doesn’t have to include all of the elements below, but it helps to start by filling it all out, starting with more and then distilling it down into less.

Poor, Poor Pitiful Blog

The blog has been neglected and has informed me if I don’t show it some love - it will put itself up for adoption. Haha! I just want to let the readers know that I haven’t forgotten about the blog, but I’ve just been so busy designing, shooting, changing diapers, living life and being sick (ugh) that I just haven’t had a spare moment to dedicate here. I do have lots of things to blog about and will begin a blogging marathon tonight or tomorrow. Don’t worry - there will be an Opie update. Everyone just loves Opie!! Oh! And just in case you are totally obsessed with what I’m up to you can certainly follow me on twitter - tweet tweet!

Typolution

Typographic Revolution. Ummm yeah… I’m a total nerd. But you have to admit… this is pretty cool!
