Oh. What. Fun.

Opie’s 1st Christmas was a blast! He laughed. He ate. He played. He couldn’t have been happier!

He ate boxes, ribbons, bows and wrapping paper. He ate a little food too. He even got two front teeth for Christmas… imagine that! Better to bite me with.

He was a real go-getter. I love a man who knows what he wants and goes after it!! Hehe.

When I say he got lots of loot… I mean he got lots of loot. I guess that’s a first grand baby for you. Now - where the heck am I gonna put this stuff???

He even let ChooChoo play with his toys too… he’s already so good at sharing!

He played his little heart out today though… and now… he’s in bed. Now… I think I should get off this computer and go spend some quality time with my hubby. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

P.S. If you’re enjoying the snow on my blog - you can let-it-snow on your wordpress blog as well!

Web Projects

I am currently not accepting new website or blog projects at this time. Those that are already on my list for web projects - you’re still on my list - so no worries. I am working to offer custom blog design sometime in the new year. Stay Tuned. In the meantime, check out Flosites.

Jenn Di Spirito: Branded

Jenn Di Spirito is a natural light, lifestyle photographer based out of Vancouver (I love Vancouver!) who specializes in children and families. She didn’t give me many constraints, but she wanted a cohesive brand. She asked for simple, strong, modern and colourful. We talked talked about several ideas but ultimately we settled on the idea of using a window… natural window light… windows to the soul…  all that jazz. Take a look at Jenn’s new brand… with a few more projects still to be done.

(Top to Bottom) Business Card, 1/2 Page Magazine Advertisement, PDF Price Sheet

And Jenn’s new blog… designed by me and programmed by Into the Darkroom.

What a blessing it is to have clients who put faith in me to do what I do. Thank You Jenn for being such a great client!!

Up. Up. Up.

Another milestone happened this a.m. Opie pulled up and stood. Can you say trouble? We’re about to be knee deep in it. Nevertheless - Opie was so proud of himself! And I couldn’t help feeling blessed that I am able to be here to capture all his milestones and still be able to make a living doing the things I love to do.

Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this face every morning?!

The camera was finally turned on me. I met with Anne Almasy last weekend to get our family portraits on. It’s about time, right!? We had such a great time with Anne! I think we’ll have to make this an annual or semi-annual thing. In case you guys forgot what I looked like or if you never know… here ya go! We’re a family of four eyes and we’ve been assured by our optometrist that Opie will inevitably have them as well! For more check out the Almasy Blog! Thanks Again Anne! Can’t wait to meet up with you again and swap some self-employment stories.

Opie Crawls

YAY! Opie crawled for the first time today.

It has to be said.

The design process just doesn’t work very well if you expect me to work FOR you. Branding, marketing and design can only happen if you work WITH me by giving me a solid foundation of what you want, understanding how I work, and giving me constructive feedback.

Mike + Pam

This vintage inspired island wedding was one of the most gorgeous events I’ve ever been to! I’ve been trying to blog about this wedding for over a week now, but I had the hardest time narrowing down images…. There were so many sweet moments and beautiful details. I was blessed to have the help of a good friend and client, Tiffiney Addis. Not to mention my sweet hubby who came along to help us. And yes - we handed him and camera and he went for it! I couldn’t have done it without them. The images below are a mix from all of us. And just so you know - this was my first time as the primary shooter. Anyone think I should continue? The wedding and the reception were held at The Ribault Club on Fort George Island in Florida.

Makeup at The Ritz

Hair at Magna’s in downtown Fernandina Beach. Awww… Pam’s Mom was so cute as she pinned Pam’s veil.

I just love the look on Pam’s face as she arrived at The Ribault Club to get ready. Isn’t laughter wonderful?

OMG! The flowers were beyond gorgeous! I think the Peony is my new favorite flower!! Email me - if you want the name of the Oh-So talented florist.

Pam’s something old was her Grandmothers ring.

Mike and Pam chose to see each other before the ceremony so they’d have more time with their guests and we’d have more time to get all the images we wanted. We still wanted to make that moment a special one so we arranged the whole thing. I was beyond honored to be a part of that moment. Check it out below. Mike had tears in his eyes… it was beautiful! Well, he could have had something in his eye, but I doubt it. Haha!

First Glance… Hers

First Glance… His

That is one happy dude!

Right after Mike and Pam were pronounced… birds flew overhead. If that’s not a sign that this is meant to be… I just don’t know what is. Pam’s bridesmaids swore she planned this. She didn’t.

You can’t tell it was cold in these images. The sky was beautiful. The tide was high. It’s was gorgeous.

The Getaway… the guests threw lavender… it smelled so sweet!

The Getaway Car… a Rolls Royce.

Designer Babies

During the break I got to hang one of my best friends and fellow designer, Eva Talley. And we finally got to introduce our boys. Check out our Designer Babies - Danny and Opie. If I have to guess I’d say these two might have a few creative bones growing in their bodies somewhere… I can’t wait to see where!

Eva said the funniest thing when she met Opie. She said, “He really is JUST like his pictures!”. He really is too - full of personality and has countless expressions. I think the kid has more active muscles in his face than an adult. I think Opie may just end up with my brown eyes… crossing fingers and toes.

I think we’re in trouble… Opie learned a new trick on Eva’s visit. Needless to say - we dropped his mattress down a few notches.
